"Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God." Lev 19:9-10

Mom's Birthday Card: Joops and Nono style...

If you haven't heard of Hallmark's Hoops and Yoyo, you have got to check them out. They are usually found in HILARIOUS greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. Well, for our Mom's birthday this year we weren't able to be with her, so we decided to parody a Hoops and Yoyo video greeting...starring Joops and Nono:

Here's the script in case you can't understand us:

N; So I heard it's your 49th birthday
J: Wow you're pretty old
N; Yeah that's like older than cell phones
J: But that could be a good thing
N; Yeah you're right, like old wine, it's better that way
J: Yeah you are aged to perfection
N; The older it gets the better it is
J: But you are even older than computers
N; Wow that's pretty old
J: You know what, I think if you were a computer, you would be a mac
N; Totally, macs are so much cooler than PCs and you're really cool
J: But not just any mac, you would be a macbook pro
N; Yeah yeah you are sleek and cool
J: And fast and intelligent, also very shiny
N; oh oh oh and modern and intuitive
J: and most of all fashionable
N; yeah and you're pretty and kind and beautiful
J: and caring and motherly and compassionate
N; and pretty and beautiful and fun
J: and happy and capable and hard working
N; (slow) and you is kind, you is smart, you is important
J: and gentle and delicate
N; and pretty and beautiful
J: wait wait wait a second, we're not even describing a macbook pro anymore
N; woah, how did that happen? i guess we just got distracted by your awesomeness
J: yeah you are so awesome
N; awesomer than awesome and really hip and cool
J: ooooh yeeeaaah
N; so I guess what we're actually trying to say is you could pass for our sister
J: yeah seriously, you could be like 30
N; yeah definitely, maybe younger
J: oh for sure
N; for sure for sure

Wedding!

It's official. After two years full of 2-3 hour skype calls, weekend trips to Luther, and far too much impatience, Nicole and I are (finally) married and no longer long-distance! These first few weeks as husband and wife have been even better than we expected, and we're excited for a long, full life together.

We were so thankful to have so many of you join us on our wedding day and had an absolute blast. After leaving the reception I turned to Nicole and asked "Well, what did you think?"  She responded, "I just had  my dream wedding." It's true we both did have the best wedding we could have imagined and want to thank everyone who joined us for our big day, as well as those who were unable to.  You are all such a blessing to our lives!

We wanted to share a unique part of our wedding with those who either weren't able to attend or anyone who would like to re-live our self humiliation. Click below to watch our Rap/Sing/Dance Medley and wedding party Thriller performances:
